This is product advice rather than medical advice so I hope this doesn't break any rules.
Had several miserable nights of needing to get up all night long, about every half hour, to blow my nose so I could breath. After a couple of nights of that my wife asked, "Would you like to try one of these Breath Right strips?"
These things:

Well, they work. Had two sound nights of sleep since she suggested I try using them. She had some Menthol flavored ones which I used. I have been breathing good since I began using them. Still have the body and head aches associated with such maladies but at least I can breath now. Which is a big plus.
Only reason I bring this up is that I had never heard of such a thing before. Bet there are a lot of people who haven't.

(38,310 posts)... good luck getting your doctor to agree.
It works great -- you can spread the cold virus everywhere and feel just fine.
But seriously, I hate school attendance awards and employers who are stingy with sick days.
If you are sick with a communicable illness then STAY HOME! Don't share it. Tell the Gawd Damned Puritans with their "work ethic" and "purposeful suffering" to shove off.
There ought to be a law...

Also, use some sort of "Ocean Water" or similar saline spray to keep
the inside of your nose moist, so it won't dry up.

(54,256 posts)I don't see that it violates the rules about medical advice.
In the Host forum Skinner laid out some guidelines about what constitutes 'medical advice'.
This doesn't seem to cross the line.
In fact I've used the strips and they seem to work in some cases.
I remember a few years ago when many pro football players were using them
It was a fad that passed.
Go forth and sin no more.

(67,190 posts)I was just amazed how well they worked first time I tried them and thought I would share that. But I can understand how someone might construe this as crossing the line into "medical advice", and have no complaints with the person who alerted.
If you get any more heartburn about it just let me know and I will delete the thing. It really isn't all that important.
Peace.

(54,256 posts)When I saw it I figured it was kinda 'payback' and tongue-in-cheek.
I've had fairly innocent threads locked that really pissed me off.
I think the 'Host' thing is a bit more laid back than the Mod 'responsibility' used to be.
IMHO we had a few trigger-happy ones.
Peace.
