What a lousy week for fans of Blues music and all music

Last Tuesday, the man who "discovered" Etta James, Johnny Otis died and then a couple of days later, the great Etta James herself went. What a crappy week.
I once saw Etta James at a local venue tell a local reporter to kiss her ass. See, the reporter said in a column that Etta would perform her entire show seated because of health problems and obesity. Well, she was standing most of the show and referenced the column shortly after she rose. Great stuff.
And Johnny Otis was a terrific performer right up to the end. May these trwo legenday artists Rest in Peace. They will be missed.
