Good bye, Prince. Thank you for the memories.

This. Sucks.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/baseball/mlb/01/24/tigers.fielder.ap/index.html

Free agent first baseman Prince Fielder and the Detroit Tigers agreed Tuesday on a nine-year, $214 million contract that fills the AL Central champions' need for a power hitter, a person familiar with the deal said.

CBS first reported the agreement.

The person told the Associated Press that the deal was subject to a physical. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract was not yet complete.

I kept getting alerts in teh Google about how the Mariners were in the running for signing Fielder and how great this would be. I knew that JZ would never fork over that much money for a 36-year-old after the disaster that was Chone Figgins.

I'm hoping he'll be the next Ichiro. Aoki-chan Tore up the Central Leauge for seven seasons, batting over .300 for six of them and hopefully he can make the transition to MLB-style play.

to go with the scariest #1 starter, a great rotation and a murderer's row lineup.

My Twins, and everyone else in the AL Central, is gonna be in the Tigers' rear-view mirror this year.
