UPDATE: the Window is "Fixed". Cheaply

www.democraticunderground.com/101840235

Yesterday I posted about a window falling out of place and breaking. Landlord would not come up to help us at least board us the window.

He did send his handy man to get the window put new glass in it. He put it back in and than put it and too keep it from happening again he place six nails in the window 3 on each side they are half way sticking out AND basically are there to keep the window from falling into the house again. ( )

Turns out our window wasn't the only issue with this problem. Our upstairs neighbors (the ones on the second floor) had the exact same thing happen to them yesterday the same time our window cam crashing in.

This house was built in the 1920s and the windows are probably as old--well the frame area. My wife was looking at the sides of where the window slide into and she notice a spiral type lifting device and what look like eye bolts (she thinks) that held the window. We notice once side was still in the up postion while the other side was down and the Round eye piece was half broken.

My wife sighed she said if this guy spent $10,000 dollars get new windows and floors in this place and fix some of the minor issues he'd make his money up and than some.

We are going to see the lease out and than find a place closer to where we work and get out of this town.

It's tough when the landlord does not care about his properties - and by extension, his tenants.

I hope your lease is up soon and that you find a great place.
