It's been a helluva week for Starks everywhere

Marvin Stark taught 36 years at Matanzas Elementary School in Santa Rosa and in retirement helped develop a ceramics art program for the Rincon Valley Union School District.

Stark, a Santa Rosan for nearly all his life, died Thursday at his home after battling idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was 75.

A woman found dead in a Santa Rosa creek had been missing from her home since Thursday, Santa Rosa police said Monday.

Marie Christine Stark, 60, was found Sunday afternoon in Paulin Creek, which flows through Hidden Valley Park.
