Some of you might remember that ChickMagic and I visited Las Vegas back in 2005. This was one of several visits in the past, and probably the only time in my life that I truly got hammered. It was a yardlong frozen mudslide daiquiri fortified with a shot of Everclear from one of the mini-casinos down on Fremont Street. Yum.
During our visit, however, we we able to visit Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, and even the Grand Canyon down in Arizona. We headed down lonely 93 until we reached Kingman, took Route 66 northeast until we reached Hualapai territory, bought a day permit to drive on tribal land, and drove down into the bottom of the Grand Canyon until the car was getting lapped by waves from the Colorado River.
I had all of the photos stored in digital format, but unfortunately they all got lost sometime in 2010. All I could find were three or four photos from the Grand Canyon that had been printed and stuck in a photo book.
Today, as I was rummaging through some of my wife's stuff to determine if any of it was junk, I found a Best Buy photo wallet that was chock full of the missing photographs from our 2005 vacation. They included pictures of Ginny.
I have recovered some memories that I was afraid were lost forever.
When I get home tonight, the photos will all be carefully scanned and digitized so that I can share them once again.
Today is a great day.
