West coaster. Worth watching?
The show centers on Martin Bohm (played by Kiefer Sutherland), who is trying desperately to find a way to connect with his autistic son, Jake (played by David Mazouz). Jake is unable to speak and doesn't like to be touched, but he does see where patterns intersect. Martin's discovery that his son is using numbers instead of words to communicate compels him to try to put together a puzzle full of seemingly unrelated pieces.
"Numbers are part of mathematical patterns," said Keith Devlin, a mathematician at Stanford University, The Math Guy on NPRs 'Weekend Edition,' and a consultant for the 2005-2010 CBS show "Numb3rs." "There is a scene in (the movie) "A Beautiful Mind" that illustrates this idea beautifully.

Loved it.
At least it isn't another freaking 'reality' show.

than "24", I predict.

(7,670 posts)6. Be warned - this show was created and written by Tim Kring - the guy who destroyed the show Heroes
maybe he's learned his lessons - but after the way he handled Heroes - i'm not going to take the chance.

(27,677 posts)7. Never watched Heroes
so I can't speak to that. If he runs this show into the ground, well at least we had a good pilot.

yeah i've heard mixed things about the pilot. like - it's not terrible. lol. but yeah to me Kring is like a poor man's JJ Abrams - but without the sustainable talent. i wish him luck with touch - he's gonna need it.
Here's a truly talented head-writer and showrunner.. if he ever goes back to doing TV after The Avengers and Much Ado About Nothing:
