Have you ever just wished a thread would die?

On an astronomy forum I spend a good amount of time at, there's this one thread about an esoteric telescope design that was started almost a year ago but keeps getting kicked every week or so. Nothing is really being discussed anymore, but it keeps getting kicked for no good reason. Every time I see this thread on the first page in its forum, I think "ooh! Maybe there's a new, interesting development!" (because the design is a neat idea) but am crushed to find that no, nothing worth reading has been posted and because the server (servers?) that run the forum are spotty, I've wasted a few minutes waiting for the thread to load.

Gaah! Why won't this thread just die like the threads where I really want to know more?!?
