Snooki alert ~
Boozy invaders hit the beach in Hamptons
Indian Wells' clean white sand fronts mansions costing up to $20 million in a section of the Hamptons where parking is permitted to homeowners only, according to the New York Times. Then last summer, hundreds of young partiers started arriving by bus and by van, hauling kegs and cases of beer, guzzling it down and, in a couple of cases immortalized in police summonses, relieving themselves in the dunes. The East Hampton Star called it the Invasion of the Beery Beach Blanketeers. Now, some Hamptons residents fear that the shift in the societal order could be made worse this year by a new wave driven north by Hurricane Sandy rebuilding at New Jersey's rowdy beaches. Could Nicole Polizzi television's "Snooki" be far behind? Fortunately for these New Yorkers, Memorial Day weekend brought rainy and cool weather, while Gov. Chris Christie went up and down New Jersey beaches, touting rebuilt boardwalks.
