Jurors, I'm not trying to start a flame war here, just a bit of fun, honest.

(72,300 posts)You're preaching to the choir on that one. I'll just stop with that statement.

(37,457 posts)Not something to fight over to me, but..... Takes all types, as they say.

"Once again Obama fails to act and looks weak" or something like that might suffice.

(21,020 posts)As a Patriots fan, I do believe he stole the ring, although I'm having trouble feeling terribly sorry for Robert Kraft, seeing as he has money enough to buy a whole shitload of those rings. OK, the sentiment wouldn't be the same, but still...
Anyway, this reminds me of something that happened a long time ago. Second husband worked for a while installing flooring, and one day he was working at the home of a wealthy lady in a frou-frou community in CT. She was into African violets, which I was raising at the time. She was very nice to him and invited him (and me) to go visit her sometime. Which we did.
I brought along one of my favorite African violets to show her...not as a gift.
She mistook the gesture and thought I was actually giving it to her.
sigh...what can you gracefully say at that point?
right...nothing.
So we visited and I sadly left my baby behind, and resolved never again to bring something to anyone's house unless I fully intended to give it away.

(8,217 posts)Never hand over jewelry you want back.
You can show it off while wearing it.
Though yeah, I have no idea what Putin had in mind.
Putin is hilarious. He has the funniest looking faces, when he's looking at something nice.
I would have thought the violet was a present too.

(21,020 posts)thinking that except that I did say, "I brought one of my plants to show you".
Maybe she was so enthralled she didn't hear me...
I mean, it was a real nice looking violet and all...

(17,086 posts)I'm pretty sure that he's the one that commissioned them in the first place, as the owner of the team. He probably had a couple extras in his safe anyways. Now he has a story to tell about it.

(21,020 posts)He's probably got a couple extra from each Superbowl they've won.
I'm not sure what was behind that whole story anyway, as now the Patriots are saying it was all just a humorous sort of anecdote.
Could be. I mean, I know how the news media love to inflate stuff and twist words around...

(10,951 posts)because of diplomatic implications, then Bush should have been paying for a replacement ring.

(13,661 posts)Really, the ring is hideous.
More likely idiot football guy realized he could sell it for $250K and wants it back.
