switch to the laptop keyboard to type "w". Had tried rebooting--cleaning the key--
unplugging and plugging cord--figured I might have to ditch the keyboard.
Had one of those automatic updates from Windows yesterday? Now the "w" works
just fine! Screwy. Just screwy.

...is to just copy and past the character from elsewhere. It's a pain, but it suffices when you just gotta post.
