Google Play

Has anybody used this for apps, documents, music, etc.?

Have you noticed that the logo for this looks a lot like PRISM ? . . . just sayin'

I was looking through the terms of service on their music program. Got a kick out of this disclaimer:

NONE OF THE PRODUCTS ARE INTENDED FOR USE IN THE OPERATION OF NUCLEAR FACILITIES, LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS, EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS, AIRCRAFT NAVIGATION OR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS, AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEMS, OR ANY OTHER SUCH ACTIVITIES IN WHICH CASE THE FAILURE OF THE PRODUCTS COULD LEAD TO DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, OR SEVERE PHYSICAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE.

The NSA may have set aside a paltry annual budget of $20m for its internet-data hoovering program (we're doomed, doomed, I tell you), but that didn't stretch as far as bunging over some loose change for using my dad's prism photo for its creepy PRISM logo: the original image is hosted on my online gallery for free-to-use pics, although there are caveats (such as a requirement to credit and link to us). Here's the original:

All your apps for one will be downloaded from the Play store. They have a fairly good selection of other media too if you want to purchase through them. It's pretty convenient and having everything synced across all your android devices is nice. I have no doubt that Google collects and aggregates all your data but for the most part this doesn't bother me as I don't have much to keep secret, and things like passwords and such I keep in a highly secure password protected database.

It's as if the NSA has gotten lazy. "We don't want to go to all the trouble to look for all your stuff ... just send it directly to us."

I haven't downloaded all that much from the Play store. When I said I use it all the time I was referring mainly just to apps. I have a few books and one movie as well as a few free magazines that they give you.
