I assume it had to be for Raising Arizona. He peaked early.

There's just an inordinately large amount of film in the middle and since then that are completely ruined by Cage's "acting".

Being that Arizona and Las Vegas are arguably his two best performances, are we to take it that Nic Cage's one strength as an actor is playing down-and-out "losers" you empathize with and want to see fulfilled?
