(11,767 posts)I hope I can make it through the night, but I'm not sure. I'd really like not having an emergency room visit. My face has become so swollen and the pain so acute, I'm not sure how tonight will go- lots of ice, ibuprophen and some Jameson-- we'll see how it goes.

(26,117 posts)that I hope you're feeling ok. Falling down used to be no big deal about 20 years ago - now, it takes more to bounce back.

(11,767 posts)The 'crunch' I heard when I landed, I was sure something was broke. I am feeling really lucky.
This tooth thing is totally kicking my ass though. My heart goes out to all who know what I'm talking about.

(21,484 posts)My beloved's best friend, Dorothy, is having her gall bladder out on Tuesday. Dorothy's partner is unable to care for her; she is 100% disabled, having been told 20 years ago after a wreck that she'd never walk again. She can get around with difficulty, but has been in constant severe pain since then. What's more, she just had a transient ischemic attack (TIA) and is trying to recover from that mentally. She's also trying to recover mentally from having had her cancerous thyroid removed in May. She has been suffering for so long. She hates it desperately that she can't take Dorothy to the surgery (the pain and partial mobility) and care for her immediately afterwards.
My beloved is going to take Dorothy to surgery and stay at their house until Thursday night to care for her. She'd stay longer, but is having facet injections on Friday morning.
