In all honesty though, with over 300 views I would have expected more than 6 responses. Of course I realize that nobody owes anybody anything in the Lounge, but seriously that's pretty disheartening for somebody that's been part of this community since 2005 and has over 7,000 posts. I guess it's just a new age here in DU3 and apparently my schtick just didn't transfer well.

If I'd known your Denny's thread concerned your birthday, I'd have wished you a happy one sooner. I don't like Denny's because a few years ago the one in Scottsbluff, NE kept "forgetting" to seat a black family until my family and I brought attention to it by insisting they be seated before we were. They'd been there for an hour waiting to be seated, but they were ignored, while "white" people were being seated without waiting.

One of the most charming Loungers you are, bluesbassman, & I contributed to your hurt feelings by not leaving a comment in the Denny's thread. I looked but put off my comment because I wanted to find just the right picture to add.
I've had "minor" surgery several weeks ago & I haven't been posting as much lately. Adding to that, my pc shut down completely. I bought a new laptop but now I'm having issues with my router & all of the computers in the household aren't functioning. I've got my iPhone to use, but I've now used up all my "allowance" for the month & I'm being charged extra from that point on.
When it rains, it pours. And now I'm seeing this thread from one of the sweetest DUers for whom I have the highest regard, & I know I dropped the ball.
I'm a private person who doesn't discuss my private life in a publicly-accessed setting, but I made an exception for you, bluesbassman. I'm very sincere when I say that I'm sorry I wasn't there for you.

I too, missed the birthday post. But then I find myself spending much less time on DU3; including the lounge. Just hasn't felt the same; not just the lounge either...: . But you know I consider you a DU friend, and I'm sorry you feel unappreciated. Understandable though in this circumstance.
Birthday joke for you 
Short version, but hopefully will bring a smile if you haven't heard it) Guy goes to visit some remote jungle area. Gets off the plane and immediately starts hearing ominous sounding drums in the distance, but when he asks about it all anyone will say is "very bad when drums stop". Next day ,as he heads to the jungle with his guides, the drumming just gets louder and more ominous the closer they get. But still, all anyone will tell him is "very bad when drums stop". Louder and louder, and then they suddenly stop. The guy is panicked and frantically asks "what happens now?" Answer is "Very bad when drums stop; now comes bass solo".

It's probably what someone else said, weekends are fairly quiet. The only reason I was on this weekend is because the husband had an out of state gig and I got to stay home with the dog.

To tell ya the truth, 6 responses from those who are sincere and true might be worth more than 600 responses from those who are not.
