I agree it is going to be a good year. Does Sookie stay with Eric? I read the books, but Alan and the writers don't follow them closely.

I'll be honest, I haven't read past the 4th book of the series - normally I read the a book per season so sometime before season #5 starts I'll read that book.

I do know season #5 is when she dates a weretiger name Quinn (that's the book) but honestly but I wonder if that is actually going to happen. I think one of the biggest issue with last season was too many characters that diluted the main stories. I was tired of wasting time between the witches and vampires to be bogged down with those useless inbred werepanthers and whatever was happening with Arlene & Terry's crazy baby. The series really built up a good place for the Bill, Eric & Sookie love triangle (she's just good friends with both) but I can't see them bringing in another love interest (which according to the books would be Quinn) when instead they could go with the great chemistry that Sookie has with Alcide. Alcide is already established and I has shown great chemistry with Sookie - you want to see those 2 hook up.

I have read on Trueblood.net that this year Alan Ball could be combining storylines found in several books and not necessarily just book #5 of the series. I mean the author has stated there would be 13 books in the series but it's unheard of that HBO would have a TV series with 13 seasons. (and it would look silly that the vampires are aging since 13 years on an actor would definately show).

Russell is back for a reason - he was one of the best villians in the TV series. He'll totally revamp season #5

I can see Alcide and Sookie getting together, pissing off both Bill and Eric. It also shows that the Sookie character is attractive to males in general, not just those who adore faerie blood.

I am in total agreement, don't dilute the story too much with too many extra characters. I want to see vampires and sex, I can do without the rest.
