If there are hash browns, then I want the yolk really runny. If there is rye toast, again, runny yolk.

If there are pancakes, then a firmer yolk, cuz I don't like the yolk mixing with the maple syrup.

So, it depends.

where we go and get a Full English for lunch a couple times a month. They do it up great.

Over medium for me - I like runny yolk but firm white...

And nothing in the handbook says a pint of Guinness at lunch is illegal.

It does say (paraphrasing) "Be ye not drunk at work..."

and we aren't.

I won't eat them any other way, except hard boiled. I don't eat very many eggs at all in deference to cholesterol concerns, but when I do that's the way they gotta be, or I'll be grossed out.

My egg story: My ex's business partner got married in 1989. We all went out one night and Matt said, k you've gotta teach Dawn how to cook my eggs. Dawn says, all I hear is that you're the only one who can cook his eggs the right way. I said, it's really simple: scrambled only, a little salt, no pepper, cook them until they're so dry that no one in their right mind would ever want to eat them, and cook them for another minute. They were gross, but just the way he liked them.

Edit b/c I'm a ditz today.

One of her friends (co-worker) has free-range hens and ends up with WAY too many eggs. She just wants to give them away but we pay her the going rate anyway. Damn are they good.

In a pinch, I'll eat over easy eggs, but they are too done.

ETA - My favorite is with crispy American bacon, whole wheat toast. Make a sandwich with the toast and bacon, eat the solid part of the eggs and sop up the yolk with the bacon sandwich.

First, fry up some bacon or patty sausage.
Break the egg into the resultant grease.
Use a spoon and scoop up the bacon/sausage yummy (AKA: GREASE) onto the egg until the whites are done and the yolk is filmed over.
Plate and serve.
WITH GRITS! goddamit!
That's the perfect fried egg and grandpa taught me how.
