About alerting threads in The DU Lounge.

OK, first of all, I'm not putting anyone down.
Some of us are really, REALLY 'concerned' about 'rules'.

Sometimes (rarely) there is a legitimate concern about a thread here.
As a host (woohoo), I haven't locked a thread yet.

Ok, I'm easy.

Maybe that's why I volunteered to do it here.
I'm pretty laid back and laissez faire.
Off-the-wall stuff is kinda the norm in T.L.

Y'all have fun and try not to take this place too seriously.

"No one, under any circumstances, shall place an alert of any kind for any reason, upon the people of the Lounge." That means 'No One' and it means, 'Under Any Circumstances'.

Damn it, I can't police the whole fucking planet. There has to be some personal responsibility here.

I'm hoping that this was just an unfortunate misunderstanding.

other forums that discuss the rules, the Lounge is considered the dumping ground for topics that don't fit anywhere else. That's reasonable, considering the Lounge is basically what Stinky the Clown terms as "water cooler talk". Almost anything is game for the Lounge to discuss, as long as it follows the SoP.

I'm as amazed as you are about the number of alerts we get for a forum with such an inclusive range of topics. With a couple of exceptions, I generally just shake my head & ignore after reading the alerts. Like trof, I'm about as laid back as one can be; could be our Southern heritage.
