(13,447 posts)If you're paying more than $15 for a burger, you're doing it wrong.

(20,176 posts)but not only did I spent more than $15 dollars on a burger, I've spent >$150 on a burger twice. Sometimes, you just need to know what can be done to modest foods when cost/price is an irrelevant factor. It's inspiring and it makes your own food better.
No, you're doing something very very right, the artistry and creativity therein are worth the price of admission...it's not something that one should do with any regularity though.

(4,243 posts)but since no one would be able to open their mouth that wide to eat that wouldn't it make more sense to order several burgers with one or two extra patties? I would imagine that it would be cheaper too.

(8,217 posts)I can see paying for some sort of burger for that much, but not for "Fast Food" type burger.
I mean, I generally won't do such a thing, but, there must be some serendipitous things happening for me to do so.
1 - If I am with friends or family that want to do it too
2 - It has something special about it
3 - It must be memorable
For me to consider paying that much, there has to be artistry involved.
I've spent over a bill per person on food at times. I can't see a burger being able to pull that off.
However, for a 38.32 burger, like I said, I won't go for anything that is "Fast Food" type.
It would have to have:
-Genuine Kobe Beef or something of the same quality(Wagyu Beef?)
-Heirloom Tomatoes
-Heirloom Lettuce(If there even is such a thing)
-Sauce made by an actual Sous Chef
http://most-expensive.com/burgers-world
Saying that... For a damn burger, I would never pay more than $45 for it adjusted to inflation.
I mean seriously, a burger is a damn burger. It could only go so far.
Out of the ones I would maybe try in that link that I put up, I'd probably try the 10, 9 and 7(there is a $32 version).
The douche burger makes me LOL.

Chubby Challenge = The challenge is to eat a 3 lb burger (6 pieces of meat with 6 pieces of cheese) and 2 lbs of fries. Eat it all in 45 min, get a T-Shirt and it's free. More than 500 have tried it, only 4 have done it. Eat it at your own risk.
