I need suggestions for Halloween candy handouts.

Of course ... everything will be individually wrapped by the manufacturer but what do kids really want? Last year was our first here. We got hammered by trick or treaters until about 9PM.

Help. I need suggestions that won't break the bank.

But ... candy corn?! Who actually likes that awful stuff?! Twizzlers are disgusting, too, IMO.

1 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
2 Hershey’s Chocolate Bars
3 Milky Way
4 Kit Kat
5 Snickers
6 Twix
7 Skittles
8 M&Ms
9 Nerds
10 Twizzlers
11 Tootsie Rolls
12 Candy Corn

Let them reach in and keep whatever they could take in one handful. Not for the under 3 set, though, choking hazard.

But, here houses are far apart on generally acreage lots, except on the lakes themselves, so we used to get a few dozen kids max.

A gentrified street, people who have been here decades, so no more kids. The past few years I did it I might get 3-4 kids, so I gave up. Only little kids here belong to the ER doc across the street, they live with his MIL because of student debt. I just make up bags for them and drop them off ahead of time.

He's got a sweet tooth -- there is ALWAYS leftover candy.

They look like Kit Kat's only better.

He likes to graze on Hershey's Kisses.

I like peanut butter, caramel and chocolate.

Have gotten two bags of Nestle minis, two boxes of Capri Sun Juices, a big bag of individual Cheetos (glow in the dark) and just now some individually wrapped goldfish. And the roommate bought a big mixed bag of Willy Wonka.

Nice bit of variety.

I also got some caramel apple flavored Milkyway minis....but I decided those are MINE! Soooo good.

Must get more bags and freeze as they are a limited edition item.

My resistance to the temptation of something sweet is at it's lowest in the Fall.
However, I can't put off shopping much longer.

I don't want Mr. ITW to face all those cuties empty handed.
He would be as unhappy as the kids.

There are snack size gold fish and chips and things available.

And I got some juice boxes.

I think there are also mini boxes of raisins available this time of year.

That might get your windows egged though.

If you live near Costco you can probably get a decent deal on a bulk candy assortment bag and let the little beggars pick what they like. You can see what gets left behind and either just buy the popular stuff next year (if you don't like the leftovers) or keep buying the assortment (if you do).

If you don't want all the leftover sweets in the house, you can probably donate them.

Leftover tootsie pops are all for me-- I'll have a couple a week at work and, short of a crisis where only chocolate will do the trick, that and the occasional lifesaver when the air is dry is about the only candy I eat.

I have bad enough teeth to not condemn a child to candy. It is pretty popular, but I close my light at 9 PM, the kids are too big them and I get scared of them, ha ha , Since the town has a Halloween party, you rarely get local kids anymore, mostly they are driven in from poorer neighborhoods. But as longs as they are kids, I am OK with it,Keep the biog dog in sight and don't answer questions about who lives here.

The gold colored coins are still enough of a novelty that a lot of kids associate them with "pirate treasure". But we don't get many ToTers, just a few really little local kids. (There's a big Trunk or Treat nearby.)

Quarters work, too.
