A funny thing happened at CVS last night.

At around 7pm at least 30 ducks waddled into the store like they owned the place.

One worker tried to scare them out with a mop, but in the end it was the toffee flavoured snack that made the ducks go quackers and leave.

A quick-thinking employee of the New York store resorted to enticing the game birds out of the shop with some microwave popcorn.

It is not clear whether the ducks settled their bill before leaving.

2. Hahahaha

I walked out of two stores (not CVS) yesterday because what was in my shopping cart wasn't worth waiting in line for.

3. Happens to me all the time.

Worse thing is... you come in and the line is short. You spend 10 minutes navigating to various aisles ( Can't they UNIFORM-IZE CVS stores?) filling up the basket go back up to the front and the line is so long you realize you're going to spend half the afternoon there.

If I can... I buy the actual DRUGSTORE type stuff at the local mom-and-pop. Helps the economy and there's *usually* less hassle. It's a couple bucks more.... and sometimes not even.

trick-or-treating dressed up as ducks.

5. You're probably right.

Why didn't I think of that?
She sent 'em over the state line to distract us.

Oh look ... a squirrel

I'm just not used to seeing them. Guess it's normal out here. I was acting like a fool trying to get a picture but those dudes are fast!

15. I'm learning the art of taking photos while I drive. It isn't easy.

Turkeys are very fast when they run or fly.

What I'm wondering is ...
How long did it take for the flock of ducks to wander into CVS?

16. that was them!!! :-)

They were up on peoples' roofs.

The people on my boyfriend's street are used to seeing them, so I really didn't want to make that big of a spectacle of myself trying to get a snapshot. They'd think "Who's the crazy chick"....

In regards to the ducks....who held the door open for them?

They could really have made the water foul...

18. This is what happens when you don't duct tape them to a wall.

Now do you people understand?

21. Back in the early 70s

we lived in a house in an unincorporated area where you could keep chickens, horses, ducks, goats, etc. (we had all of those critters). We had a bunch of duck eggs that we put on an electric blanket and they hatched inside the house. After a few days, I walked out the back door and they followed me as though I was their mother and they dove into an inflatable kid's swimming pool I set up for them. They were loads of fun and I gave each of them names (like Cunegonde from Voltaire's Candide for a female duck and Werther from the Goethe work for a male). They were constantly at the back door begging for food and if you let them, they tried to come inside, remembering their place of birth. Sometimes we went to the store and left the back screen door slightly ajar in the summertime (people would often leave their houses open back then) and somehow the ducks had learned to stick their beaks in the crack of the door to open it. We'd find a dozen friendly ducks in the living room when we got back from the store, quacking away in front of the TV set. We never clipped their wings and they never flew off. They were very tame and very amusing.
