2. I think Hill was attempting a gritty true-to-life depiction of gangs in New York.

What he ended up with is a masterful piece of modern surrealism.

Great movie.

Love the DJ. When I first saw the film, I had assumed she was repellently ugly.

How was I to know she was the lovely Lyn Thigpen?

4. There you go again bringing up movies I've just watched

I love that movie. When I first saw it in the theatres, I thought it was a gritty, scary movie about what life in New York was like. I now see it for the artistic fantasy it really is.

The director's cut with the comic book art is actually inferior in my opinion.
