(4,243 posts)If I were going to drive a car (I'm a pickup truck kind of guy) I think I would like it to be a little more sleek.

(13,409 posts)Or I guess I should say again as I recall a few SVO or Mustang Cobras back in the dark days of performance cars with pretty crummy turbo fours. Only now with direct injection and variable geometry turbos, turbo fours can be great sport car engines with low weight and great power from slightly off idle to redline. A few years ago, I wouldn't consider any pony car without a V8 as the V6s typically sucked. Now I'm guessing if I were to get a pony car, it would be with a turbo four. The mix of fuel economy, handling and power make them too attractive.

(2,244 posts)Great car for the money! New gears and a tune makes it nearly as fast as the stock TA I've had for years, and it gets better gas mileage. The new breed of v6's these days are now actually worth looking at other than the Nissan VQ engines. I think the new turbo 4cyl will be a popular choice among those who want to get a nice power boost from just a tune while retaining good fuel mileage. Even a tuned v6 wouldn't keep up with that.
As for this new redesign, I don't know what to think of the rear end, especially the tail lights. I'm only saying that because I absolutely love the design of the '13 and '14 year model LED tail lights.

(13,409 posts)I think the current gen is a perfect blend of modern styling and retro design. It's great that Americans are making great smaller engines now. It's really hard to beat 300+hp and 30+mpg in a pony car.

(2,244 posts)Still don't know about those tail lights though, but I do like the interior. The interior of my base v6 is pretty bland by comparison, but I guess for a new 23 thousand dollar performance car, you can only get so much in the interior department.

Only then do I make a final judgment....

(2,244 posts)Rumors for a while were pointing towards a lighter curb weight, maybe as much as 200lbs lighter, but I don't see that happing when it's mostly the same size.

Though my first car was a Ford Ranchero. Primer grey, with wood panel. I may not be the person to ask about cars.

(6,234 posts)1. It's a FORD Mustang, which means the fit and finish will be as crappy as they can get away with, while the car itself will be priced as if it were assembled and fitted by craftsmen.
2. Right there on the website they are talking up the six cylinder engine and the economy. Attention Ford: It's a sports car, not a Camry.
