And by the way: Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Will is very sensitive about others getting credit for his work.

And as far as De Vere goes, supporters ignore the fact that while the is little direct evidence that Shakespeare wrote the plays, there is NO evidence that De Vere wrote them at all.

Someone once remarked about the lack of documentary evidence for Shakespeare's authorship: "If, in four hundred years all that remained of you were a few parking tickets and some receipts, would that negate the things you had done with your life?"

What with all the moon, spoon, lovey-dovey impressions people have of the play, it's actually very violent...

Will is off at the other end of the bar, or he'd say 'hi'. I'll try to get his attention.

I'm still furious with you for stiffing your wife in the will. Why couldn't you leave her more than a bed, precious as those were in your day? Sounds rather churlish to me.

without a specific bequest in the will.

Will's mention of the second-best bed (the one they would have slept in, the best bed being reserved for guests) may have been a gesture of affection.

I'm not saying Will was a model husband, but he did give Anne the comfortable life of a country gentlewoman...
