How would being a trucker make you any different from anyone else?

People often stereotype truckers as being less intelligent than the average person. People who are truckers and who like truckers claim they are actually smarter than everyone else. I think they are fairly representative of the male population as whole (there aren't many female truckers). Some are bright, some are not, and some are in between there somewhere.

They are notorious for wearing shorts in winter. Women included, although there aren't as many.

I think it may be because the truck puts off heat.

Shorts are nice to drive in because they are comfortable. They don't look very professional, though. And, note, I said sub-zero weather. I'm not talking about when it's 35 degrees out.

I don't know if you can call someone who works a minimum of 70 hours a week lazy, but for me it's more comfortable to drive in shorts.

I won't dress for cold until my hands start freezing during fueling unless I double glove.

The next time you see a piss bottle in the middle of a parking lot, think about it. Other than that I haven't contradicted anything you said.

I will take you up on your offer of a steak dinner if I ever make it to eastern IN, but I only seem to hit either the Indianapolis, or Munster areas.

As for the behavior you mention, it's more of being a slobbish pig than anything.

I wasn't sure if you remembered me or not. We've got a couple of really nice restaurants around here. Park that baby at the Petro at the border, give us a call, and we'll set you up right.

Then again, I might actually stop my car and ask them if they need help.

There are a few instances that this is important, sadly I know this from experience. Elders suffering from dementia, or related issues. Grandmother of a friend of mine ran out in the cold wearing nothing but her pajamas in the snow.

So, sometimes I'd have to make a judgment call on some of these.
