The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHello Lounge.. This is my
first post here. I just moved to Fl and am looking for a place to rent
for myself in an RV I just bought to move here. I like the gulf side of the
state, and want to be in south Fl. South of Sarasota would be great!
Also, safety is important, and so is price. Under $400.00 preferred with everything
included.
Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions. I welcome all.
ps, hope to help re-elect Alan Grayson and work on the Governors race
for Charlie Crist...
Wish me luck!

(575 posts)I am very excited to finally be in a state that I can do more to help
elect more Democrats. Living in a red state previously was really getting
to me, I never had a Democrat to vote for except for President.
Its all about sun, fun, politics, and charity work from now on!

(22,845 posts)fyi - MFM stands for our beloved lounger MiddleFingerMom. He passed away yesterday after a long struggle with illness, and we are missing him. You will probably see MFM mentioned a lot here.
Also I want to caution you that I and others have a tendency to re-post news stories here about weird things that happen in Florida. Please try not to be offended. It's just that there is so much MATERIAL out there.

(575 posts)I'm so sorry to hear of this great lost to you all. There was much
love for him on DU. I saw his post often. RIP MFM.
The stories about FL will be fine. I moved here from Miss. and the stories
about red states and especially Miss are for the most part true and plentiful also. lol
So happy I got out! I feel like I will make friends easily now that I can be around
more like minded people. Sheez, thought the day would never get here that
I could fulfill my lifelong dream to own an RV and live in FL.

(575 posts)What a pleasant place to be. I usually offend people when I have
posted before on political stuff. I don't mean to, it just happens. *sigh*
Reading must be my stronger suit. Ha ha

(12,132 posts)I don't know if they have any campsites or trailer parking for rent but they have the BEST PIE in the world. And with good pie, who cares where ya live?
My aunt and Uncle have lived in the Venice area (just a hiccup further south from Sarasota) for many years (Well, my aunt and my mom were both born there - and my little brother too, come to think of it but I was pretty young then) and they love it. I visit the area as often as I can (I live in Orlando). It's not too far from Tampa if you have an urge for some bigger city fun but still quiet and beautiful to soothe you after a long hard day of GOTV.
Welcome to the MFM Lounge!

(575 posts)pie! lol
I am familiar with Venice. What a charming place to visit!
The people walking the sidewalks along the small shops and beautiful
colors on the main drag was so cool. Thank you for the ideal of Venice
that's definitely south ,and a great place to try and find something.
ps Orlando is great too! I lived there in 1988 and 89. It was so beautiful
there. I want to be closer to the water, it heals my spirit and make me whole
when I am down, Mother Earth is still so beautiful in some places. The beach's, water, sun takes all the stress away every time. Have a beautiful day Greek!

(575 posts)May be way out of my price range. I drove through there
on a road trip while I was living in Orlando in the late 80's..
I look forward to being very involved in politics here. Its my first
priority to find out all I can as soon as I get settled....
Thank you monmouth3!!!!
Have a beautiful day!
