Wife bumpped into a doctor who fan who got the last copy of Day of the Doctor and he asked her

Which is your doctor. She said 10 will always be her 4 and he nodded and said " Personally 5 is my 4".

Now I like doctor who but what the heck? and do any of you have numbers like that?

And the other replied Peter Davison was his.

Tom Baker (#4) played the Doctor for 7 years. He's my favorite Doctor, although of the reboot, I like Tennant the best. Overall, though, Number 4 is my 4.

This "my number 4" code contains up to 3 (possibly more) ideas.

Tom Baker's shows were the first shown here in the US back in the 80's when the series first jumped the Pond, so for many Americans, he was the first Doctor they knew. They could be using "Number 4" as shorthand for the first Doctor they saw. They could also use "Number 4" as code for their favorite Doctor, or be combining both. In my case, Number 4 IS my Number 4. Tom Baker was the Doctor in the first Doctor Who show I saw & he is my favorite Doctor, which is why I went completely bananas when he showed up in the 50th Anniversary special.

… and I wonder if some Americans close to the Canadian border might also have been able to pick up the channel. You know, in places like Seattle or Detroit or Buffalo or Sault Ste-Marie or northern Maine.

Daleks scared the shit out of me, even in black and white.

He was...different. He wasn't overly goofy like 10 and 11.

It was hinted that's what happened, but it wasn't conclusive until "Day of the Doctor", the 50th anniversary special.

and I was really sad that Eccleston was only in 1 season. Tennant is my favorite of the reboot, but Eccleston did a great job too.
