Some welcome personal news for a change...

I've been feeling depressed and appalled lately because my bathroom scale said that I'd gained about 35 lb in the past month or so since I quit smoking, and turned into a big, fat, 5'9", 230-lb tub of lard. My clothes were still fitting the same, though, and I wondered If I'd just become denser. I mentioned it to Rosie at choir this morning and she asked me how old my scale was. I told her I had it since I moved here in 1992 (it was already 15 years old then) and she said it was probably time to get a new one. So I did and I just weighed myself. It turns out that I've only gained about 5 lb, meaning that I'm a somewhat smaller tub of lard than I thought I was. I'd still like to get down to about 170, but the streets are too icy for biking now, so I'm just going to have to exercise my body in other ways, as well as some restraint.

That is what I do after getting weighed at the doctor's office. I'm always 10 lbs. lighter at home!

Glad you don't have such a big challenge after all!
