(58,642 posts)It's been slow where I work, too. Kind of scary because I'm one of the 'new' guys with least tenure. All the temps are gone, one or two regular employees have been let go (but not me, yet) and they're talking cutbacks in hours.
Best wishes going forward.

(112,102 posts)I hope that you are able to collect unemployment and can find another job quickly.

(6,336 posts)MY contract is technically up at the end of this month, but they eliminated a bunch of positions (including mine). Now back to the drawing board.
Does any one know of political campaigns that could be staffing up?

(20,176 posts)I get it daily and there's usually around 15-20 campaign jobs a day. It was started as a jobs-bulletinboard for unemployed campaign staffers around 10 years ago. It's currently a google-group. I'm on it because occasionally there are also fundraising jobs for NPOs and activist organizations.

(37,997 posts)There's some serious Democratic effort going on in my state.

(6,336 posts)And that thought scares me (and my mom, who lived in Texas as a kid and hated it) because I'm your stereotypical liberal white girl driving a Subaru but I'll take the challenge.
I'm applying to Annie's List and Battleground Texas. I know about the latter but can you tell me a bit about the former (if you know).

(37,997 posts)Nor Battleground Texas. I just know that there's a big push in this state for Democratic GOTV and fundraising.

(13,661 posts)not sure if Warner is going to hire, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out - this is a battleground state.

(6,336 posts)And I really enjoyed it there (a very red part of VA as well). I would not mind going back.

(17,595 posts)Allyson Schwartz, John Hanger, Tom Wolfe, Rob McCord, and some others I'm not thinking of at the moment.
Maybe one of them has campaign openings.
Joe Sestak will probably run for Toomey's seat in 2016 and he will be taking a long view, i.e. maybe hiring staff soon.
