Well the hits just keep on coming for us!

Not only do we have a vet bill with Brody and his up coming surgery BUT finally my wife's payment stub for Healthcare came in. Now she finally was able to sign up by beginning of Dec. the and the plan that would best help her ended up in the $200.00 range. Ever since that fungal pneumonia that nearly killed her her lungs have not always been the best. She is goin to need an inhaler and breathing treatments once in a while. She has a box of Albutoral from her last time with pneumonia that she has been using sparingly but once in a while like in the summer when the humidity really gets bad she needs that help of a breathing treatment.

Anyways long vent short she has been waiting for the statement to come to pay the bill. Waiting to get her book and cards and all that. nothing shows up. Call the company a couple times they state she should be getting it in today's mail. It is a double bill for Jan and Feb. $410 by jan 28.

Why does it seem like when we think things are going our way and we see the light at the end of the tunnel we get slammed with a pile of Shit.

Her sister is still planning the surprise party ( which is now lunch at a resteraunt) for their mother's 75th birthday.

Brody the cat and the lump

Now insurance...

Wife is crying at the moment but I'm sure she'll figure something out.

I just needed to vent. Thank you for that.

based purely on something I had to do with an electric bill. Send them $205 now. I'm assuming since that's what you were anticipating then you have that much to send. Then send the other $205 in Feb. as soon as you can. If they contact you just tell the truth: It's all we got.

Good luck.

you're going to be sending the next amount and when they can expect it. Also briefly try to explain the situation as best you can.

If you're comfortable with it, you may want to call them before sending the first half to let them know. Most places, are pretty cool as long as they know when the money is coming in. They'd rather hear from you than have you go silent all together. I don't know your situation so I'm not sure if calling first is what you want to do. If you know you're going to have the second half on a certain date it might be just as good to send the first with a letter and then sit and wait to see if they say anything.

As the old saying goes it's often easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Once they cash the first half they're pretty much obligated to take the second.

I sincerely hope things improve for you soon.

Hermetic and Sharp_Stick's suggestions are good ones.

Ask the vet about a partial payment plan. Also ask the insurance company. It never hurts to ask, especially when you explain the circumstances. Even if you give each one $10 or $20 a month, it will show that your intentions are good.

Also, where do you get your prescriptions? We've found that Target has very low prices on many prescription meds, lower than Costco.

I believe it's possible to get some kind of free prescription discount cards that get you about 10% off. These cards are widely available in Maryland, and probably in other states as well.
