I was hoping to be with Mom on the anniversary day but I have something I have to attend the day before back home. I hope she's not alone (other than her caretaker) on the 2nd.

My sister may be able to go by - she lives close. I'm leaving to visit for the week tomorrow and originally had planned to stay until the 2nd but the group I'm president of has en event on the 1st that I need to attend.

Mom will be OK, I think. When Dad died she was ready for him to be out of his pain. He was satisfied to have reached 90 and in March when we almost lost him, he said he had a good life and if it was his time, he was fine with it. He lasted until August and had pretty good quality of life until the very end though he had been in constant pain for the last decade.

I'll call her on the 2nd and may get her an orchid before I come home - she loves her orchids!

It was 68 degrees today and is only supposed to be 72 tomorrow. I'm ready for some warm weather.
