"Brand Hand"(?) When I see this, I stop listening

I just saw a commercial with 5 people standing like this, the speaker and her audience of 4. It looked something like this.

Does this make anyone else cringe? Maybe I find this offensive because I'm Italian

1. It probably wouldn't bother me if it was just one person...

...but, when you put them all in one post, it's creepy. I don't know why. Like it's some sort of secret signal to some kind of cult.

I just tried it. There is nothing satisfying about putting your hands together like that. Conclusion: cult.
