He seemed not to have an idea of what was going on in her life.
Was she that good at hiding things? Or was he narcissistic with her?
He may end up reexamining his life, regardless of whether he really loved her.

The other alternative (I'm speculating people, relax) is that she threatened suicide sooooooooooooooo many times he eventually got tired of the boy who cried wolf syndrome. Again...I really doubt that was the scenario.

In my own family, one of my cousins was bipolar and a marine biologist, a professor. Everyone thought he was stable. One night he just blew his brains out. It's hard to predict sometimes.

And on being told the news, Mick was extremely considerate in his immediate response, thanking the waiter he had earlier been chatting with for a great time, shaking his hand and telling him he had to leave. I don't think narcissists tend to have that kind of consideration, at least not in times of high stress.

It seems like she found her identity in her work, so folding her business was a major issue for her. Having 6 or 7 million in debt was probably a major issue too, even though Mick had supported her through the years, and that was pocket change for him, it still meant having to turn to him again.

From what I've read, she also had hoped eventually to have kids and marry, so clearly had already not reached that dream.

It's sad that somebody can have so much going for them and not be able to envision a new dream.

On the other hand, the daily mail tends to play up the sensationalistic side. His reaction seems pretty normal to a shocking and devasting loss.

being the girlfriend of a 70 year old rock and roller who sings songs like "Under my Thumb". By all reports she didn't complain when he slept with other women.

Poor Mick.
