The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWho are your current celebrity crushes?
Last topic of this kind that I saw was in October, so I will start a new one.
At my age in my 30s, crushes are not so much a go wild about put their picture on the wall thing - they are more of a normal attraction you have while paying attention to real life things more. But I still get them.
My list is pretty much the same as before. Actresses include Kaley Cuoco, Zooey Deschanel, Yvonne Zima, Sharon Case, Adrienne Frantz, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Alison Brie, Amber Tamblyn, Ashley Greene, Natalie Portman, Salma Hayek. Music crushes include Alison Sudol, Bee Sharp, Kelly Ogden, Jilette Johnson, Michelle Branch, Stacy DuPree, Kacey Musgraves, Christina Perri
So who are yours?

(8,217 posts)I mean, there are many attractive celebrities, but I don't equate them with a crush any more.
If it is basically just who I find attractive, I can name some, but an actual crush... No one really comes to that point any more.

I'm actually more interested in this thread for the men. I need to find ways of making myself look more like the crushable male celebrities. Or at least to project a sexier image.

(16,245 posts)That's all I ask. Is that weird? Well, okay, it is weird.
It would be James May. I don't like the other two much (in fact I pretty much hate Clarkson, yet I hate-follow him on Twitter, too, so whatever).
But James is sort of a disheveled, nerdy type that just sort of appeals to me.
I really need to get a life.

(20,564 posts)now i am too shy to comment in his feed or even mention his name, he's a session musician so he doesn't have millions of followers & it seems like he tries to answer everyone
fortunately he was only the side crush or i probably would have fainted, my main crush is a musician who modeled a few times, he's truly beautiful but only tweets back to other famous people so he's pretty safe as a celebrity crush

At my age (almost 50), I find myself looking at "celebrities" differently. I will see a nice looking young man and then realize I am old enough to be his mother! Ew!

(21,925 posts)especially if it's about a young actress. But if you're talking about a celebrity whose beauty or charm is so irresistible you have to acknowledge it at whatever age, I would say the most awesome I've noted in recent years is French actress Vahina Giocante. She just looks like a glamorous star the way stars were beautiful and glamorous in the old Hollywood. If I were a young man, it's probably her poster I'd have on my wall. She's extraordinary. Cate Blanchett is someone who also comes to mind, for her combination of regal beauty and acting talent.
In this film she appears with Audrey Tautou (of Amelie fame) and you can see her extraordinary young beauty on display.
