Thought you aviation buffs would get a kick out of this.
I flew a lot of 2 and 4 ship close formation during my air force days, even did some formation aerobatics, and I can tell you that these guys are damned good.

1. Wish I had the money to ride one of these

or gift it to my husband. Where we live out in the country we are right where these kinds of groups practice before air shows. I have pictures taken from standing in my pasture where you could almost identify the pilot of you knew him. They are amazing. That move, about 40 seconds in where they go straight up. Yup, I wanna do that!

2. Got to see the Thunderbirds many times...

Always wanted to see the Blues...

In the 60's-70's they wrestled the beast F-4 Phantom around the skies...sadly many of these pilots never returned from Vietnam.

I've seen them perform many times and talked to the pilots.

3. The Blue Angels are so totally awesome.

I worked at an office across the street from Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA, and they would perform in the air shows there once a year. We would all go out into the parking lot and get a free show while they were practicing, and then on my way home, cars were parked along the road watching them because they were still up in the air.

I have flown small planes, and I would love to ride along in one of the Blue Angels' planes. That would be an awesome trip.

4. I've helped to organize a couple of those shows

my favorite was when we had some very poor inner-city kids come on base as guests for the show - they LOVED it, and they grilled the pilots like pros

6. I belong to the VERY loosely 'organized' Ancient Aviators of South Alabama.

Just a bunch of old fart pilots who get together every month to swap lies.

Each May we're invited to a Blues practice session in P'cola.
Bleacher seats on the ramp.
(Wear ear plugs.)
Get to go out and mingle and talk with the pilots after practice and have photo ops.

I remember the young fart ones I dealt with in the Air Force, most of them I would not have trusted to drive my car

10. Sometimes not so much.

Most are very conservative in politics and uber patriotic.
Lately, unhappily, politics sometimes comes up in a discussion.
I don't attend much any more.
