Gee, what to watch on TV tonight? WHCD*? Or In the Heat of the Night?

(*White House Correspondents' Dinner)

It's been a while since I've seen Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger in this classic drama.

I think I'll opt for that on TCM.

I was never a big Sidney Poitier fan, but he and Rod Steiger both give what are IMHO the best performances of their respective careers in ITHOTN. Add a great screenplay and you've got a classic for the ages that I've seen at least a dozen times. So many moving and powerful lines and scenes. Definitely a must-see for those few people who haven't seen it yet.

(On the much, much fluffier side, I've also seen To Sir With Love a dozen times or more. Not nearly the cinematic achievement ITHOTN was, but a fun, feel good movie that also should be seen by anyone who's missed it.)
