A season or two.

Having to re-do the slide over and over again so that you're sure not to get any splinters would be a nightmare.

Have to admit, it is a beautiful set.

polyurethane on it. No outdoor stain would make it functional. I would probably polyurethane the whole set, put traction pads on the steps and landings to give it grip, but that this is going to rot quickly in the elements and its just too beautiful to let that happen.

I'm not sure how well pouring resin on it would work, particularly for the slide.
It would be expensive as heck, and I have never put hardened resin through the weather test.

I just couldn't think of a way to keep a wooden slide smooth after a cold snowy winter and a scorching hot summer.

I still think it is pretty cool.
