What on earth did a koala bear (or for that matter a baby seal or a penguin) do to a narwhal that merits avenging?

DU seems to love the mammal with a tusk

Narwhals' distinctive long tusks are super sensitive, research has found. The whales are known for their tusks which can reach 2.6m (9ft) in length, earning them comparisons with mythological unicorns. The tusk is an exaggerated front tooth and scientists have discovered that it helps the animals sense changes in their environment. Experts suggest males could use the tusks to seek out mates or food. The results are published in the journal The Anatomical Record. FWIW (just to set the record straight) I love baby seals, koala bears and baby penguins.

My three favorites:

1. The Water Weenie - because Wham-O has such a great history of inappropriate products.
2. Pictured above - the Wolverine "blow up doll"
3. The very, very disturbing "Punisher"

Honorable mention: E.T. "Finger Light"

and #17, the hybrid cat/mouse doll is kind of cute, and OMG! I actually have #20! Someone gave it to me. It was originally a Leprechaun Doll with a costume. I always used to joke that it looked like a doll you'd see in a horror movie.

I liked the face bank too!

Of course, I'm not a kid and so I don't know how I would have felt about it back then.

Although when I think about some of the toys I had as a child, it might not have bothered me much.

One toy in particular, which I still had up till about 18 or so, was a rubber indian. It was a copper/sienna color, HUGE head with black rubber hair, and a huge nose as well. Creepy grin with large weird teeth, dressed in a loincloth, and holding a rubber tomahawk in one hand and the other hand was just a fist. My mother told me that when I was first presented with it as a little tot (somewhere around 1953 or so) it had a real feather in its headband but they had to get rid of it as I probably tried to eat it.

Really really creepy toy, but I kept it all those years because I liked the popping noise it made when I squeezed together different parts of his body, even when I got older.

So I'm pretty sure it would have taken a tremendously creepy toy to scare me back then...

Grandpa's Little Helper

What a drag it is getting old
"Things are different today,"
I hear ev'ry Grandpa say
Grandpa needs something tonight to get him going
And though he's not really ill
There's a little Blue pill
He goes running for the shelter of a Grandpa's little helper
Makes his plumbing work all right, gets him through his busy night

Doctor please, some more of these
At the bedroom door., he took four more
What a drag it is getting old

"Girls just aren't the same today"
I hear ev'ry Grandpa say
They just don't appreciate that you get tired
They're so hard to satisfy, You can't tranquilize your mind
So go running for the shelter of a Grandpa's little helper
And fit helps you through the night, helps to minimize your plight

Doctor please, some more of these
At the bedroom door, he took four more
What a drag it is getting old

"Life's just much too hard today,"
I hear ev'ry Grandpa say
The pursuit of younger girls just seems a bore
And if you take blue pills like that, you will get a heart attack
No more running for the shelter of your Grandpa's little helper
Make your plumbing work all right, get you through your busy night.
