Dedication to Lounge: Maureen McGOVERN There's Got to Be a Morning After

While on hold, this song came up and was so long-gone lovely. Looking it up, I had no idea it was from The Poseidon Adventure, of which my impression was that it was a trashy Disaster Movie. So Ms McGOVERN went on to record *more* Disaster Movie themes? And went back to work as a secretary (before reviving career)?

from Wiki: ...Her influences include Barbra Streisand and Dionne Warwick. .... McGovern's contract with 20th Century ended during 1976. Her career declined and so did her finances.[citation needed] In an interview on BBC Woman's Hour on 18 May 2009, McGovern stated that exorbitant fees charged by her manager (40%) together with her band being on a full-time salary, whether she was performing or not, were the cause of her perilous financial state. Ready to begin her life over again, she moved to Marina del Rey and took a secretarial job under an assumed name, Glenda Schwartz. .... She slowly returned to music during the mid-1980s

"The Morning After"
(All Kasha and Joel Hirshhorn)[/font]

From the Movie "The poseidon Adventure"

There's got to be a morning after
If we can hold on through the night
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let's keep on lookin' for the light

Oh, can't you see the morning after?
It's waiting right outside the storm
Why don't we cross the bridge together
And find a place that's safe and warm?

It's not too late, we should be giving
Only with love can we climb
It's not too late, not while we're living
Let's put our hands out in time

There's got to be a morning after
We're moving closer to the shore
I know we'll be there by tomorrow
And we'll escape the darkness
We won't be searchin' any more

There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after
FADE
