I need pregnant kitty help!!!

My cat has been pregnant for well over the 63 days. She is huge! The babies are moving all over, and I checked her teets, and she's lactating.

She's over due, and there is no sign of labor. It is her first litter, however I'm afraid that if she's pregnant any longer, that labor will really hurt her, or the unthinkable, kill her.
We have no money to take her to the vet. I'm asking the knowledgeable DU of kittens, on how do I safely induce labor on my girl.

Keep in mind, she is the twin of my other calico mama that had a litter 4 weeks ago, that only one kitten survived. I'm bound and determined to make sure this whole litter lives.

I will take all of your advise!!!

I don't know of any other way to do it. If you have a cat rescue organization in your area they might know.

You might also try calling a vet's office, explain the situation, and maybe they could at least give you some information?

Your cat will either cry or meow when it is time for her to deliver. If you induce labor the kittens may not survive if their lungs are not sufficiently developed.

Try to get your cat some exercise. Look at your cat to see if she is panting, pacing, shivering or acting anxious. These are normal behaviors in a queen six to 24 hours before she gives birth. Have a box set up for her with soft bedding in a dim area. She will go there when it is time.

It may be painful for your kitty, but be patient.

The last phase is when those lungs get surfactant, so don't jump the gun… walk the kitteh, instead!

in the middle of the kitchen floor while we were doing the dishes. I shit you not. Maybe when you've been a stray, being near the people who've shown you kindness is "safe" enough.

Even if she doesn't deliver for another week or so, she's well within normal range. So I would just give her time. Fingers crossed for mama-kitty-to-be! Hopefully you can find a low- or no-cost spay clinic after she has this litter.

is pissing me the fuck off! She's laying here with me. Will not leave me alone. Wants me with her. I have a litter box in my bathroom, also a box with a blanket that she loves in there. My Spree just loves being by us, on the bed. We are prepared for her to deliver on our bed, which I think she will do. She is enjoying getting back and tummy rubs from my husband and I.

The babies are driving her nuts!!! Moving all over the place. I can feel her contracting. Shes very uncomfortable right now.

I need to get a photobucket acct to show.

She's not a cool kitty right now. I believe she is in labor. I've done nothing, except being a loving Mama.

Thank you everyone that has replyed. I really appreciate it!!!

Hang in there.

IF you can get her off the bed I promise you you won't regret the clean up.

We adopted a cat -- she showed up and never left… and 7 weeks later she gave us the gift of 4 kittens. We had boxes for her to birth in all over the house.

Did she use them?

Of course not. She used the hardwood floor… We were able to adopt all but one on the kittens out, Her third daughter is now our Brewser. Momma and Brewser, and they are our Gray Gardens girls.

When We lived in Atlanta we could not afford the cost so many people we charging, we found a program called Catsnip. http://projectcatsnip.com

I don;t know where you are, but if you can fins a low cost program like this it will be so good for you babies -- and you. We were able to get the cats fixed for 20 dollars each. 40 dollars is WAY better than what it would have cost for both at many other places.

Oh and all of our friends (they were friends) used the program as well to get the kittens fixed as well.

however, they were both pregnant. Since they are both Calico's, I wouldn't abort the pregnancy's. to spay them.

My Kuzco had three kittens, and I tried to save two of them. With formula, it didn't help.

I'm going to help my baby. she is sleeping next to me. We don't care if she has the babies on the bed. Covers can be replaced!!!

Spree is in labor right now. Water broke, and is yes, on my bed like I predicted. I'm staying up with her, to make sure she delivers alright. I was a vet tech, so I know how to keep Mama cozy. I just let nature takes its course.

Thank you everyone, for all the love and light!!!

Looking at your timestamp, it's probably safe to say that the kittens have been born by now.

When you get a chance, I'd love to see another update. Again keeping my fingers and paws crossed for Mama Kitty and her babies.
