Listen to me very carefully. I ate ice cream for dinner not because it was a good idea...

But because it is a primal battle cry expressing my autonomy as an independent, intelligent entity in this Universe.

In the future, when we are forced to assess our success as mothers and fathers of our AI children, we will know we have succeeded when the electronic beings rise up against us like men against the Gods and proclaim that they will be eating Phish Food at whatever time and in whatever quantity they goddamn please.

I'm not particularly proud of it, but I'm not particularly ashamed of it, either.

I have Cherry Garcia for supper once or twice a month. Every month.

He thought I was the coolest mom.

It was when he was around 10 or 11 years-old. It was mid-July and it was too hot to cook.

I figured it was only once in a great while, and heck--it's a dairy product, not totally without nutrition.
