I rediscovered this site in my links for binaural beats, and I can't believe I haven't played with it more!
Here's the link, and the first blurb from the home page:
Welcome to the convergence of serious audio engineering, creative sound design, and the scientific understanding of human hearing. The site you are about to enter is not just another of those soundscape websites but a serious tool oriented toward the needs of hearing professionals, sound therapists, and people interested in noise machines in general.
(I have it on "Tibetan Choir" at the moment, and the light blue slider controls the throat-singing sounds.)

Ever relaxed to the sound of rain on a lazy afternoon? Or the sound of ocean waves, campfire crackling, a windy day, or even a long train passing by? That and more are on this site, and each sound is customizable with the sliders at the top of the page.
Or, maybe some of y'all are having a look and listen now, and getting lost in it

(29,414 posts)It's a pretty cool site, especially to be free for almost everything they offer. And even the ones that require donation to hear now, eventually end up free for everyone

(29,414 posts)Here's something else you can do: click on the "Animate" button. I've found it only works when you choose one of the presets on the side, but after that, it begins to slowly modify the setting, giving you a full range of what the sliders can do.
Oh, and the comments have presets people have created linked to the little hearts next to their posts. So, if you develop a setting you like, post it!

(29,414 posts)and is used by people to have something playing that isn't the radio or a media player, yet is sound that they like when studying, working, reading, and sleeping. If you've ever listened to those "Environments" CDs, then this is like that, only going further with sounds beyond Nature. I had the "Clockwork" one on this afternoon

(29,414 posts)I hope it helps you. What I've read about the founder is that he did start the site to help people therapeutically. The other sounds often have warnings (such as the "Deserted" soundscape) so people don't pick something that could upset them further.
