Damn. What a great artist, and for inspiring a whole genre.
I liked this quote from the article, though; made me chuckle:
"My paintings seem to make the strongest impression on people who are, well, who are crazy," Giger said in a 1979 interview with Starlog magazine. "If they like my work they are creative ... or they are crazy."

I hope his museum continues to be well-funded. I'd hate to see his stuff sold off to private collections and away from the public view.
