1. Geri Jewell was in Deadwood with Jeffrey Jones

2. Jones, of course, played Ed Rooney in Ferris Bueller with Alan Ruck

3. I met Ruck at a comic book convention in 2008, where I asked him why in gawd sakes was he wearing a Detroit Red Wings jersey all around Chicago in that movie. He told me that since the director, John Hughes, was a Michigan native and a Red Wings fan, that it was his decision.

It took me over 20 years to get the answer to that question.

19. Lucille Ball.

I like this one. Because it's Lucille Ball, my grandma and grandpa, and then me.

My parents met working behind the scenes in Hollywood. Two of my siblings tried to make a living acting, but it's a rough business.

My Hollywood grandma (not my crazy grandma) wanted me to be an actor but I washed out before kindergarten. I was very good at staring at people like they were some kind of interesting natural phenomena, not talking, or running away.

My six degree relations are not as impressive as yours because I'm pretty much a hermit and family members make the connections.

Just saw this guy on the teevee (will probably also be very easy for you since it's a sport connection): Chris Andersen, he of the mohawk, at the Miami Heat.

Or, just for fun, Ron Jeremy.

I know you'll ace this one (as you always do). But I thought I'd throw it out there because I grew up on a street that ran into the Falk Ranch in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. The ranch, which trained quarterhorses for racing, was owned by Betty Grable and Harry James.

I sometimes regret not knocking him on his ass when I bumped into him in the Pentagon.

But as an enlisted guy, I doubt that it would have turned out well for me.
