the breakup..part two :)
I posted a week or whatever ago that the wife and I are breaking up.Next Sunday will be the day we go our separate ways and both move into our new places.
I helped her move some boxes and stuff into her new place yesterday ![]() ![]() Then we took some boxes to my new apartment....4 1400 square foot apartments all alone on a hill...they are built from an old mansion....4 30 foot tall granite pillars at the entrance...oak floors...heat pump...dishwasher...literally living in one forth of an old mansion...amazing place.Island kitchen...just an absolutely amazing apartment. We pay the same rent ![]() She walked into my place...looked around...and said i hate you and laughed. I give it 60 days before the pampered drama queen calls me crying wanting to talk. IF we get back together it will be on terms that are more equitable ![]()

2. we will
the fighting is all about her kid...25 years old..wont work...wont look for work...we pay his almost 500 a month car payment plus his 200 a month insurance and buy his gas and cigs and give him pocket money while he lays in bed till two in the afternoon.
It won't take long for her to realize he needs to get off his ass and grow up We have fought for 11 years over *her baby*....I give it two months of her supporting him without my input to wake up |

3. I've been covering the bills for the last year
I've been begging for OT at work and getting it...the bosses know my situation
I've been working 70+hours a week for months trying to make ends meet because of her kids bills....I will probably if I end the OT stuff make 75k+ already this year...she has never had to make it on her own and now she has to make her payments and payments for his primadonna ass too. She is in for a shock. I love her but she needs this to realize she cant baby him forever |

4. fair warning
My SO ended up supporting his ex's three adult children AND their spouses AND three grandchildren to boot. Not to mention their 5 dogs. All under the same roof no less. This was the thanks he got for raising another man's children for over two decades. The youngest is in his mid 30's, the oldest over 40.
He left her two years ago once he finally realized the deadbeats meant more to her than her marriage. The happy ending was for me (with three lovely self sufficient daughters) who ended up with a loyal, caring partner. So did he. |

7. I'm sure this goes without saying, but
I'll say it anyway. You need to see a divorce lawyer. Even if you aren't contemplating a divorce at this time. You need to know what to expect if or when you do go through with a divorce. With the difference in income, you could wind up having to pay her alimony. You will need to make decisions on pensions, insurance, title of autos or land, etc. What ever agreement you have made on division of personal items, furniture, etc., you should get in writing.
And, if it is what you want, you get back together, a written agreement on rights and responsibilities would be helpful. There can be so many misunderstandings without a document to refer to. I'm glad you are happy with the dogs who will be going with you. They will adjust to the changes and be satisfied just to be with you. |

9. Yeah, the divorce cost my SO plenty in money
but when said and done he still says it was worth every penny. His cost of living is significantly less now that he's not supporting a family of ten.
