(29,414 posts)We didn't have band camp. What we had was three weeks of marching practice before the beginning of the school year. On an asphalt parking lot. In August. Upper Texas Gulf coast.
Now that was a workout regime!

(29,414 posts)Even after football season was over, my circle of friends (there sure are a lot of intellectuals in band!) did plenty of crazy things together. And lunch hour, being right after band practice, enabled us to no end

(35,015 posts)These kids are creative, smart, funny....they look at the world a lot differently than the other 80%. I enjoyed every minute of it, since I'm corrupted by art as well.
