I used to have a malamute/shepherd who loved wasps. He'd see one, maniacally snap around at the air a few times, catch it, and crunch it up like eating popcorn. He never once had a reaction.

to get away from a bee, even though a wasp stung me and it was no more than the feel of a sticker in my leg.

But bees are different...I got stung by a bee at about age 5..an my whole mouth swelled up..hence the train thing.

Years ago we had a wonderful Lab mix that was outside with the whole family when a bee started going after my wife. My 2 boys, myself and the dog were trying to run interference for her while she made a run for the house. The dog jumped up and ate the bee.
We rushed him to the ice cream store and let him have a large vanilla cone and all the love and praise we could heap on him.
After that no bee was ever safe near him.

3. When I was a kid, the neighbor's airdale Brutus found a hornet's nest.

It was in the ground, and Brutus stuck his nose in it and got them all pissed off, then they flew out and swarmed all over him. He didn't care though, had the best time chomping at them and running around and continuing to stick his nose in the hole. With all that hair, the only place they could have stung him was his nose!
