under supervision. My guess is they left the kid unsupervised and took teh picture once they discovered what he'd done while he wasn't being supervised. Who the hell LETS their kid draw on the dog with magic markers???

And thanks to the dumbasses that left such a young child unsupervised with a dog which is a bad idea all by itself, one discovering what he was doing to the dog instead of STOPPING him and teaching him this was a really bad idea so he learns not to do it again, they think it's funny and take a photo of it.

Yeah, har har har. Now the dog is covered with INK that if the chemicals alone don't cause her problems she'd still be licking herself raw trying to get it off and ingesting it. Oh yeah, fucking hilarious, that. Pfffftttt.

It's not funny, it's STUPID and ABUSIVE.

I know some horse therapists (Ttouch?) use them in workshops.

Don't know that these are that type, but the pastel colors suggest they may be.

8. non-toxic for DOGS?

You do realize that the physical make up of dogs and humans are not the same and that ordinary foods for humans are toxic to dogs like chocolate, grapes, raisins, garlic, onions, etc? That whether the markers are non-toxic to HUMANS or not that the dog is going to lick and lick and lick to try to get the ink off and that when dogs repeatedly lick at spots on their skin that they usually create rashes, infections and sores? Or how about dogs often display all kinds of maladies through their skin because it is that sensitive? Or that all that licking also removes much needed hair that is part of their bodies heating and cooling system?

Once again, what kind of obnoxious abusive git allows there kid to draw on the dog with ANY kind of marker and think it's FUNNY? And so funny that instead of stopping the kid and teaching them not to abuse the dog in this way they take a damn photo of it and display their stupidity and abuse to the whole world? If the kid drew on the drapes or the walls would they think it was funny even though the drapes and walls aren't living beings?

They're either stupid, stupid, stupid to watch the kid draw on the dog with markers thinking it was funny or they're stupid, stupid, stupid to allow a child of that age unsupervised interaction with ANY dog. If the kid is willing to draw all over the dog with magic markers what the hell else might they do to the dog that the dog WON'T appreciate and while the kid is unsupervised. That's how horrible maulings of kids happen in the first place - idiots that don't supervise their young children that are interacting with a dog.

No, that photo isn't the least bit funny, it's epically stupid, abusive, and actually teaches the kid that he can do whatever he likes to a dog.

Including the exact same activity that was shown in the photo. My dog never licked it off, nor did it make her sick. She was bathed shortly after these activities and was an all around healthy dog.

The bull terrier in the photo looks content. Having had one of those in my life, my experience is that they don't put up with things that bother them.

and I doubt the dog is going to lick, lick, lick try to get the coloring off. The color is on his fur, not his skin, so not likely to cause skin sensitivity issues. If it does, they'll figure out not to do it again, or their vet will tell them not to let it happen again.

Somebody obviously is watching; the picture didn't take itself. That dog doesn't look like he's the least bit bothered by the attention.

I love animals as much as anybody. But I do think you are overreacting here.

funny how different people can see a picture and have a complete different reaction. I would have never imagined someone could see this picture and have a response such as yours.

I thought it was cute.

Pretty sure those markers are just crayola washable markers. I think the dog will be just fine. He sure doesnt seem to be stressed out any due to this abuse.

We ran a daycare for many years in our home, and ours and other kids played with them and got ink on their skin and suffered no ill effects. We also had a white boxer mix that our kids would "decorate" from time to time with those markers and she suffered no ill effects either (she did enjoy the attention though ). I would not advocate using the permanent types.

kids can do stuff pretty fast, you CAN NOT watch them constantly, dogs roll in all kinds of nasty crap, marker ink isn't going to hurt the dog. lighten up, the picture is pretty funny.
