My friends dog 'Betty' puked today

I visited my friend today and Betty (Black lab mix) had been out in the yard and garden for ten minutes or so before I arrived. While my friend was in the kitchen, Betty puked a huge vomit on her bedroom floor .

The contents of aforementioned vomit painted a rather sordid tale:

1 blade from a fresh marijuana leaf.
A rather large amount of fresh cat poop with no cat litter
A bunch of dirt
3 quarter sized chunks of cheese. Mozzarella I would guess, or perhaps Provolone...
1 dried Holly bush leaf
Assorted twigs
Part of a catnip kitty toy
A penny

That is all we were able to identify.

Sounds like Betty had a busy afternoon. Times like these, I'm really glad that I'm human.

Yeah, you are right. One of these days she will end up in the doggy ER. Hopefully her 'stuff' eating is a puppy trait (she is 8 or 9 months old.)

They suck up everything. Dirt, rocks, tree bits, unidentifiable scraps of trash, poison ivy, pre-chewed mashed into the pavement gum, poop, bugs, road kill, kitty litter... yet serve them expensive high quality dog food and they look at you like it's a bowl of barf (though they'd eat it if it was barf).

Thankfully, none of my dogs actually ate poop though. But my first one loved to eat his "surprise vomit"... that slightly stomach moistened food he snarfed up too fast that suddenly shoots back out unexpectedly moments later causing the facial expression of wonder mixed with horror quickly followed by a race to "put it back".

I'm convinced they eat the most revolting things imaginable just to gross us out not so much because they really think it's tasty.

She loves to chase, catch and eat them. Bees too, but she usually gets her tongue stung. Of course that does not stop Betty from going after the next bee that comes along.

A few nights I had a cricket somewhere in the room that was driving me bonkers, but Yoshi finally found it and ate it. mmm... crunchy.

This is also the first summer he's been going after the fireflies. He never took any notice of them before. He's eaten so many out of the air that I expect his big hairy butt to start lighting up every few seconds. I can't say I mind him eating them though. They have to be the most stupid bugs on earth always flying straight into your face... what, like it can't see me there???

Labs will eat anything, as the contents of Betty's stomach have shown you! Luna has eaten batteries, coffee grounds, cat poop, plastic, soap, a disposable razor...

Miraculously, she hasn't been injured by any of it. What I've discovered is if she has toys to keep her busy, she won't mess with that other stuff. Except the cat poop. There must be something about it? A delicacy for dogs perhaps?

...on the Animal Planet channel. They were doing a "Best Of..." show, and one segment was about the strangest things retireved from dogs' stomachs. The funniest item was a pair of ladies' lace panties that turned out to be neither the style nor brand worn by the lady of the house. BUSTED!!!

once came in with her face all bumpy and swollen and a hacking cough... trouble breathing. I immediately got her into the car and rushed her to the vet. I assumed she'd gotten into a yellow jacket nest. However, on the way to the vet, she hacked up the head of a mole, which cleared her airway. The vet said she'd had an allergic reaction to the mole and he gave her an antihistamine for the hives and antibiotics. lol Labs.

There may very well have been an image of Jesus in it (it seems to pop up in everything these days). If you'd been on your toes, your preserved 'Jesus in Dog Puke' might have been worth a fortune!
