This Pit Bull Carried Her Injured Chihuahua 'Soul Mate' To Safety, Now They Need A Loving Home

OK, y'all. Find these two besties a forever home, together!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/22/joanie-chachi-dogs_n_5608980.html

About a week ago, Joanie the pit bull was discovered carrying an injured little friend -- Chachi the Chihuahua -- inside her mouth, around a Savannah, Georgia, neighborhood.

Animal control officers found Joanie putting Chachi down from time to time, to lick the Chihuahua's badly infected eye. Chachi "appreciated the attention," according the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department's Facebook post on the pair.

"It's not every day we get to see such devotion between two special dogs like this," Animal Control Officer Christina Sutherin is quoted as saying. "They are both such sweet animals. But the relationship they share just sets them apart."

I would take these babies in a heartbeat. I do believe someone will take them both...it would be terrible to split them up, and most folks would realize that.

Thanks for sharing, Flaxbee.

Odd couple strays Joanie and Chachi find new home

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WJCL) – It’s been a long, storied road for a couple of area dogs that made national headlines, but the two may have finally found a new home, officials with the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department announced by social media at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Chachi, the long-haired Chihuahua, and Joanie, his larger pit bull mix friend will be headed to sunny Florida where an unnamed new owner will take them in.

It’s a major trip for the two, but with animal lovers as far away as the United Kingdom making pleas to take the animals in, it could have actually been a much longer journey.

*snip*

The two even received attention from county music legend Wynonna Judd on Twitter.

But for Joanie and Chachi, the attention likely didn’t matter much. And neither does the big trip coming up in a few weeks. Because in the end, they’re about to take the final leg of their great adventure – and thanks to a loving future home in the Sunshine State, they’re going to be doing it together.
